Information Desk:
This is located on the ground floor (Level 1) concourse and is open from early morning before the first flights depart through until 8pm. It operates as a comprehensive "one-stop-shop", providing all airport, tourism and public transport information.
The Information Desk on Level 1 (MM)
"Fast Lane" Priority Security Clearance:
Passengers have the option of purchasing a £2 token which enables them to avoid the long queues at Security Control that often form, particularly at peak times. Green-coloured machines are located throughout the terminal and they will accept a mixture of sterling coins and also debit/credit cards. One machine will accept 4 euros if required (ask at the Information Desk for its location). The token is then inserted into one of the automatic barriers on level three, just before descending to level 2. This route then permits access to dedicated X-ray security machines and staff. The airport cannot guarantee that delays will not also happen using this system, especially at peak times. It is also possible that the normal free channel won't be congested at off-peak times. Passengers must make their own judgement.
Shops, Food and Drink outlets:
NB: The hours of trading are at the discretion of the concessionaires subject to individual minimum levels of service agreed with the airport, taking into account seasonal and peak demands. Therefore all outlets will not be open 24 hours a day. However, departing passengers can be assured that refreshment facilities will always be available airside (i.e. after security control) from two hours before the first flight of the day to when the last flight of the day is called for departure.

Car Parking:
As a result of increased security measures (see Stop Press page) there is a strict no parking policy anywhere near the front of the terminal building. Disabled drivers should ask the security guards at the car park entrance to arrange assistance, if required. All drivers must drop-off in the special designated zone inside the Short Stay car park. This is located at the front part of the car park, nearest the terminal building, but drivers must not leave their cars unattended or wait longer than is necessary to unload . Unattended cars may be clamped. Drivers wishing to leave their cars unattended must also park in the Short Stay car park but in a normal parking bay. There is an adequate number of disabled bays for Blue Badge holders. The first 10 minutes are free for all vehicles and the entry ticket can be inserted directly into the exit machine provided your stay is not more than 10 minutes. Stays in excess of 10 minutes must be paid for by using the ticket machines located inside the terminal building. The main car park opposite the terminal building is divided into Long Stay 1 and Short Term and details of the tariffs in both car parks can be obtained by ringing 0151 907 1661 or 1665 or by visiting the airport's website (see our Links page).
The Long Stay 1 and the Short Stay Car Parks are both accessed by turning left off the roundabout near the Yellow Submarine feature. Separate barriers then divide the car park into the two sections.
Long Stay 1: Obtain ticket on entry and pay at machines inside the terminal before returning to your car. Alternatively, pre-book on the airport's website (accessed from our Links page) to make significant savings on the Gate Price. There are also spaces available beyond the old control tower and this section of the Long Stay 1 car park is accessed via an underpass. Follow "Additional Parking" signs. Exit from all areas can be made alongside the original entry point but see paragraph below.
This car park is cheaper for stays in excess of 6 hours and starts at £19.00 for the first day. Stays in excess of 24 hours can be pre-booked online (Early Bird or Getaway) to obtain substantial discounts on the full Gate rate.
Please note that as a result of the building of a new hotel and multi-storey car park, the reduced capacity in Long Stay 1 often results in it being full and if this is the situation when you arrive (as indicated on the signs approaching the airport) drivers should use Long Stay 2. Note also that a new exit from Long Stay 1 can result in vehicles from the far end of this car park using this new exit. Follow the exit road around to join Hale Road. Turn left and this will bring you to Speke Hall Avenue which is the main access from and to the airport. Turn right here but please exercise great care as you cross the incoming traffic flow to cross over to the far side of the dual carriageway.
Long Stay 2: located on the right hand side of the last section of dual carriageway before reaching the airport. This is clearly visible - turn right at the roundabout as you approach the airport. Charges in this car park are the same as in Long Stay 1. Obtain ticket on entry and pay at machines inside the terminal before returning to your car. Alternatively, pre-book on the airport's website (accessed from our Links page) to make significant savings on the Gate Price.
Short Stay: This section is also accessed by turning left off the roundabout near the Yellow Submarine feature. Obtain ticket on entry and pay at machines inside the terminal before returning to your car. The first 10 minutes are free. Length of stay is not restricted but becomes more expensive than both Long Stay car parks after 6 hours. Exit the Short Stay car park via a barrier close to, then through, the main exit point.
Premium Rate Car Park: This is located immediately adjacent to the terminal building and provides easy and rapid access to the terminal at a premium rate. Maximum duration of stay is 9 days. Pre-book on the airport's website (see our links page). A limited number of season tickets are available in this car park which allow unlimited access at any time. Contact the car park department on 0151 907 1661 or 1665.
Illuminated signs on the approach to the airport state which of the car parks have spaces available. Note that pre-booking is capacity constrained so cannot be guaranteed to be always available. Book early to avoid disappointment.
Cycle Parking:
Bicycle storage bins are located in the short stay car park. A £50 deposit is required but there is no charge for their use.
Left Luggage:
A left luggage facility is available on the ground floor (Level 1) to the right of the Check In desks (in the same place as passengers check in oversize baggage). Charges are payable, depending on the number of items and duration of storage. All luggage deposited will be will be subject to screening by X-ray machines before acceptance.
Executive Lounge:
The Halewood International Business Lounge is available for use at a cost of £12.95 per person but is free to members of the British Airways Gold and Silver Clubs and the One World Alliance Club. These members can also bring one guest with them free of charge. Priority Pass Holders are also admitted free of charge. Free newspapers and refreshments are available. Other facilities include payphones and internet laptop connections. Open from 0530 to 2000 every day, the lounge is situated airside beyond security control. It has been created in connection with Liverpool's "Year of Faith in One City 2004" and a commemorative tree was planted by the Right Reverend James Jones, Bishop of Liverpool on 30 September 2004. Further features will be added in due course. Seats are available for persons to sit in quiet reflection and will be of particular significance for those with loved ones lost during the last war and who were involved with the airport or aviation. On 21 May 2005, a flowering Magnolia Stellata bush was planted by FoLA Chairman, Paul Ellison, dedicated in memory of past Friends. The ceremony of dedication was conducted by the Airport Chaplain, Nicky Lees (see photo below).
The Garden can be found just beyond the eastern end of the terminal building, i.e. the left hand side when looking at the front of the terminal.
Some members of FoLA and the Airport Terminal Duty Manager (fourth left) gather in front of the commemorative bush following the service of dedication by the Chaplain, Nicky Lees (second left) (EQ)

Car parking is available at a discounted rate of £3 per vehicle. A selection from buffet menus can be made available, if required, at extra cost.
These tours will have either airport staff or members of the Friends of Liverpool Airport as guides. A presentation entitled " Past, Present and Future" will be given in the Cavern Suite - a room not normally open to the public and which contains many photographs from Liverpool's Beatles era.
