"Fast Lane" Priority Security Clearance:
Passengers have the option of purchasing a token costing £3 which enables them to avoid the long queues at Security Control that often form, particularly at peak times. Green-coloured machines are located throughout the terminal and they will accept a mixture of sterling coins and also debit/credit cards. Two machines will accept 6 Euros if required (ask at the Information Desk for their locations and notes/coins accepted). The token is then inserted into one of the automatic barriers on level three, just before descending to level 2. This route then permits access to dedicated X-ray security machines and staff. The airport cannot guarantee that delays will not also happen using this system, especially at peak times. It is also possible that the normal free channel won't be congested at off-peak times. Passengers must make their own judgement.

No Smoking:
In accordance with UK law the whole of the inside of the terminal building is non-smoking. However, there is a "Smoker's Shelter" located outside the building, near the bus stops between the Departures and Arrivals doors.

Travelex ATM cash machines dispense Euros and Dollars by using your credit or debit card. Several pay Internet workstations and Wi-Fi facilities to connect your own laptops.

The Harry Goodwin Photographic Collection:

The main collection is located near gates 2 and 3 and feature pop stars of the 60s, 70s and 80s but there are also photographs of sporting personalities and comedians. A separate collection dedicated exclusively to the Beatles, sponsored by the Liner Hotel in Liverpool, is located near Gate 31.

Ticket and Enquiry Office: This is located on the ground floor of the multi-storey car park between the pedestrian and vehicle exit points.

As a result of increased security measures (see Stop Press page) there is a strict no parking policy anywhere near the front of the terminal building, except for Black Cabs and Buses. Disabled drivers requiring assistance will find call points near the disabled parking spaces in the car parks.

Mini-Buses and large vans: The Drop-off and Short Stay Car Parks are height restricted (1.95m or 6'4") so drivers of these vehicles should follow the yellow signs at the entrance to the car park to the dedicated parking area.

Drop-off: All drivers just dropping-off passengers should park in the Drop-off section of the car park. This is located at the front part of the open air car park nearest the terminal building. The first 10 minutes are free for all vehicles and the entry ticket can be inserted directly into the exit machine provided your stay is not more than 10 minutes. Stays in excess of 10 minutes (up to a maximum of 40 minutes) must be paid for by using the ticket machines located in the car parks and inside the terminal building. The cost is £2 per 10 minutes after the first ten minutes and is priced to encourage drivers who intend to leave their cars for a short while to use the Short Stay car park.

Short Stay: This is located in the multi-storey car park and should also be used for picking up passengers as this is cheaper than the Drop-off car park. Obtain entry ticket from the machine and pay at machines in the car park or inside the terminal building. There is an adequate number of disabled bays for Blue Badge holders with call points for assistance nearby.

Long Stay 1: This is the main part of the open-air car park opposite the terminal building. Obtain ticket on entry and pay at machines inside the terminal before returning to your car. Alternatively, pre-book on the airport's website (accessed from our Links page) to make significant savings on the Gate Price. There are also spaces available beyond the old control tower and this section of the Long Stay 1 car park is accessed via an underpass. Follow "Additional Parking" signs. Exit from all areas can be made alongside the original entry point or there is another just beyond the hotel which is nearer for those parked at the far end. This car park is cheaper for stays in excess of 12 hours. Disabled Bays with nearby call points are available in an area nearest to the terminal.

Long Stay 2: located on the right hand side of the last section of dual carriageway before reaching the airport. This is clearly visible - turn right at the roundabout as you approach the airport. Charges in this car park are the same as in Long Stay 1. Obtain ticket on entry and pay at machines inside the terminal before returning to your car.

Premium Rate Car Park: This is located immediately adjacent to the terminal building and provides easy and rapid access to the terminal at a premium rate. Maximum duration of stay is 9 days. Pre-booking is essential via the airport's website (see our links page). A limited number of season tickets are available in this car park which allow unlimited access at any time. Contact the car park department on 0151 907 1661 or 1665.

Illuminated signs on the approach to the airport state which of the car parks have spaces available. Note that pre-booking is capacity constrained so cannot be guaranteed to be always available. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Cycle Parking:
Bicycle storage bins are located in the short stay car park. A £50 deposit is required but there is no charge for their use.

Left Luggage:
A left luggage facility is available on the ground floor (Level 1) to the right of the Check In desks (in the same place as passengers check in oversize baggage). Charges are payable, depending on the number of items and duration of storage. All luggage deposited will be will be subject to screening by X-ray machines before acceptance.

Executive Lounge:
The Halewood International Business Lounge is available for use at a cost of £12.95 per person but is free to members of the British Airways Gold and Silver Clubs and the One World Alliance Club. These members can also bring one guest with them free of charge. Priority Pass Holders are also admitted free of charge. Free newspapers and refreshments are available. Other facilities include payphones and internet laptop connections. Open from 0530 to 2000 every day, the lounge is situated airside beyond security control. Prior booking can be made, if required, on the airport's website. For further information ring 0151 907 1002 during opening hours.

Cavern Suite:
This room will accommodate up to about 80 persons sitting in rows and is available to hire for meetings, seminars and other presentations. Contact the airport's marketing department for further information. The room is located in the main terminal building.

Garden of Remembrance:
A small area has been set aside outside the terminal for persons to visit. It has been created in connection with Liverpool's "Year of Faith in One City 2004" and a commemorative tree was planted by the Right Reverend James Jones, Bishop of Liverpool on 30 September 2004. Further features will be added in due course. Seats are available for persons to sit in quiet reflection and will be of particular significance for those with loved ones lost during the last war and who were involved with the airport or aviation. On 21 May 2005, a flowering Magnolia Stellata bush was planted by FoLA Chairman, Paul Ellison, dedicated in memory of past Friends. The ceremony of dedication was conducted by the Airport Chaplain, Nicky Lees (see photo below). The Garden can be found just beyond the eastern end of the terminal building, i.e. the left hand side when looking at the front of the terminal.

Car parking is available at a discounted rate of £3 per vehicle. A selection from buffet menus can be made available, if required, at extra cost. These tours will have either airport staff or members of the Friends of Liverpool Airport as guides. A presentation entitled " Past, Present and Future" will be given in the Cavern Suite - a room not normally open to the public and which contains many photographs from Liverpool's Beatles era.
